My Approach and Interests
In our sessions, I prioritize creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. One of the aspects of my work that brings me the greatest joy is getting to know my clients on a deep level. Building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect is essential to the healing process, and I strive to cultivate this connection in every session.
Therapy with me is a dynamic and collaborative process. Together, we'll explore a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral strategies for change and mindfulness practices for acceptance. By integrating these approaches, we can work towards creating lasting transformation in your life.
I have experience treating many common issues; such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I especially enjoy working with neurodiverse adults and teens (with diagnoses like Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia/Hyperlexia. etc.) and their families. Rejection in social situations can lead to poor self esteem and loneliness. Self-acceptance, understanding, and skill building can help build stronger connections.
I also feel a deep connection with the addiction recovery community and work with individuals at any stage of change from problematic substance use. People in recovery often have unresolved trauma which can be processed in therapy so you can "leave the past in the past". Partners, parents, and children of those with addiction also find therapy beneficial to understand how to support their own emotional health and not fall into co-dependent patterns with their loved one.
