Child and Family Therapy

Every family experiences challenges. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, school stress, family conflict, or a major life transition, therapy can provide the support and guidance needed to help your family move forward together.

At Wise Psychology Services, we understand that children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported. We also recognize that a child's emotional well-being is closely connected to their family relationships. Our goal is to help children develop healthy coping skills while strengthening communication, understanding, and connection within the family.

When Should Parents Consider Therapy?

It's natural for children and adolescents to experience ups and downs as they grow. Most challenges are a normal part of development. However, when emotional or behavioral difficulties become persistent, interfere with daily life, or leave your child or family feeling overwhelmed, therapy can provide valuable support.

Parents often consider therapy when they notice that their child is:

  • Frequently anxious, worried, or fearful

  • Persistently sad, withdrawn, or irritable

  • Having difficulty managing emotions or frequent emotional outbursts

  • Struggling with friendships or social situations

  • Experiencing changes in behavior, mood, or personality

  • Having difficulty adjusting to divorce, grief, relocation, or other major life transitions

  • Showing increased school-related stress, avoidance, or declining academic performance

  • Experiencing conflict at home or difficulty communicating with family members

  • Recovering from a traumatic or highly stressful experience

  • Expressing low self-esteem or excessive self-criticism

  • Having trouble sleeping, concentrating, or coping with everyday challenges

Parents don't need to have all the answers before reaching out. If you're concerned about your child's emotional well-being or wondering whether therapy could help, we're happy to discuss your concerns and determine together whether therapy is the right next step.
